The Who Shop

This week we went to The Who Shop just outside London. It was pretty cool. They have props from the series in a mini museum in the back of the shop. You get to go through the TARDIS to get in. It was super cute.
Obviously, I was pretty excited. The TARDIS is actually pretty tall.

So are the Daleks...they are huge. I dunno why, but I thought they would be smaller. Its adorable, it has a sign on it that says "Do not touch or you will be exterminated".

I didn't spend as much as I thought I would, but I did a bit of damage. It's probably a good thing though because we're also going to the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff. (Tomorrow! Yay!)

UK Nail Haul: Day One

The first place we stopped straight from the airport was the Trafford Center. There I stopped in Boots and Selfridges to pick up some nail supplies. At Boots I picked up one of the Barry M Gelly polishes (in Guava, it's more teal than it looks in the picture). I might go back and pick up a few more if I really like them. They had some cute colors.

Then we stopped in Selfridges for the Illamasqua counter. I restrained myself and only got 4 polishes and that was it. I didn't even pick up any makeup (yet...). I got three from the I'mperfection collection and their Matte top coat. I cannot wait to swatch these! I've been holding back on ordering them because I knew I was going to be visiting soon. Yay!

Nail Catastrophe: How to mend a broken nail

I haven't posted any nail designs for several weeks now, and unfortunately I have a good reason why. I snapped my thumb nail off, in an unfortunate accident. I've never broken a nail this badly before, there was blood and everything. It was bad. But I'm going to walk you through what I did to try to save it.

I was at work pulling a package apart when this happened. I kept a bandaid on it all day, and it was pretty painful.

4th of July Cupcakes in a Jar

Unfortunately, my sister is going to California for the national Irish dance competition, and while she is there she will be staying with family friends. I am very jealous I can't go. For a little surprise for them I baked some cupcakes in a jar. They came out pretty cute, and I had some 1/2 pint mason jars chilling in my room, so it was obviously meant to be.

Baking: Polka Dot Cake

So in my family, since most of us kiddies are all grown up, we celebrate all the summer birthdays together. Two of my cousins and I had one big party, which was super fun. I was asked to bake a cake and I took the opportunity to attempt a polka dot cake. As seen all over Pinterest. It didn't work out exactly as planned, but well enough for me. It tasted good, and thats all that matters to my family.

So the first time I tried using the cake ball pan, I didn't put in enough batter and they came out all lopsided. The colors came out pretty nice though.

This is what the pan should look like if it is filled enough.

Ta-da! It looks ok. Not my best work, but what can you do.

And this is one of my cousins and I playing bags. It was a pretty epic game.
