This is absolutely hilarious. I first saw the movie last year which prompted me to check out the books. The movie is very funny, but the books are amazing. I was crying from laughing so hard. The thing is, these are written by a British author, Louise Rennison, who is from Leeds, England, so the books use tons of British slang, and also include many references to products and things only available in Britain (and Europe). So you might have to refer to the 'dictionary' in the back to figure out what some of the sayings mean...like lurgy. (my dad is from England and so I knew most of the slang...but lurgy just makes me think of him...and laugh). You pick up the slang pretty quick and will get almost all of the jokes, but the majority of the hilarity is based on the situations Georgia gets herself into (along with her sister Libby).
So I got back from Greece the second week of August. I was gone for a month, and it was AMAZING! I was in Athens for several days, then I headed out to the island of Chios with the Orpheus Greek Dance Group for a week. We performed several times and had some workshops with instructors from Chios. Then it was back to Athens for a day and then off to Thassos, another island. I stayed there for two weeks near the Alexandria Hotel.
